The career total is the WTA’s own published figure, quoted as it stands — it counts doubles and every tier, including the ones Setlex does not track, and moves when the tour updates it. The 2025 figure is this site’s arithmetic instead: each tournament’s published per-round singles prize, read at the round Elise Mertens reached. A cheque written in another currency is converted at the European Central Bank’s reference rate for the tournament’s day, recorded when the tournament was priced and never recomputed; the amount as paid is beside it. Nothing here is an average of what a tier usually pays.
